Platinum Drive’s Bill Doescher Wins Top PR Award

Bill Doescher, of Scarsdale, NY, has won the prestigious John W. Hill Award that is given annually by the New York Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America. Doescher received the top award on May 22 at PRSA-NY’s Big Apple Gala at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel in New York City. For 22 years Mr. Doescher served seven CEOs in a number of senior management positions at Dun & Bradstreet, rising to the position of senior vice president & chief communications officer and publisher of D&B Reports, a magazine for small-business management. Following his retirement from D&B, Mr. Doescher joined Platinum Drive Realty in Westchester, where he serves as a licensed real estate salesperson.
Highly active as a volunteer in the public relations field and with a number of non-profit organizations, Doescher has touched the lives of hundreds of students. He has taught or lectured at the Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University, Columbia University, Colgate University, Utica College, the University of Maryland, New York University and Iona College. He also is a member of the Board of Ed Randall’s Fans for the Cure, the Cancer Support Team’s Advisory Board in Westchester County, and is member of the Cable TV Commission in Scarsdale, NY. Doescher was awarded the Philip Dorf Award by PRSA-NY in 2009 for outstanding leadership in guiding and inspiring the careers of young public relations professionals. He has mentored numerous high-school-and-college students, including those through the PRSA Foundation, where as president he started and managed the Foundation’s career academies initiative in 11 high schools in the U.S.
